Spring 2012 Storyboards

So, for this blog post I have created 2 storyboards for the Spring 2012 season. It is up to you to decide which one you like the most and tell me, comments will be most appreciated. Without further ado...
Let's forget our morals and wear some florals

When I was looking through this years designer collections I just kind of stumbled upon the fact that there were a LOT of floral prints. And as a vintage lover this trend defiantly spoke to me.  I chose a brighter color palette because it brings it to a more current place.
Then we'll pretend we're hunnie bunnies in the 1920's

On the second story board I stuck to my theme from last weeks Great Gatsby post. I saw lots of geometric style lines and low or non existent waist lines. I kept the colors more subdued with this board because I feel it suits the mood better.
That's it for now. Let me know which you prefer!

  3. I really like "Let's forget our morals and wear some florals" storyboard. I'm a vintage lover myself, and enjoy the vintage style large prints and motifs. I also enjoyed the lady like silhouettes.

  4. I love the 1920's inspired storyboard! The use of geometric shapes is always a great way to create interest in a garment, and it's really cool to see it with the 20's silhouette.

  5. I love your titles so much. I also love how much visual information you fit into each board, without it being too cluttered.I kept feeling like I had too many images and they weren't very clear. I also appreciate how I can look at your images and clearly see where your colors came from. Your color palettes match your ideas and your images very well.

However your images are wider than your blog space. You may want to go into your settings and make it wider. Not really a criticism, just a tip.

  8. It's very fun how you mixed your floral prints, I like how in way you show both sides of a woman the "inocent side" and the "wild side".

  9. My fav is the second, mostly because I can't pull off florals. The first is very kelse!

  10. The dresses on the second board are wonderful. I never thought I'd see a flapper-style dress that didn't look to costumey and now I've seen the light

  11. I definitely think that that second board is your strongest because the silhouettes of the 20's are more unique than the floral prints. I feel like florals are really overdone sometimes, and the 20's silhouettes, lines and shapes add a very unique twist to the dresses. But I must say that I really like your color palette on your first board.

  15. I really like the 2nd board. I think floral prints are over rated (but this is just my opinion)! I can definately see why you prefer the 1st though, and it is definately right up your alley!

  16. I like how you are incorporating what we have been learning in fashion history and using it in a modern twist. It is cool to see how the industry is still using the style that was used so far back in the day.
